Why should I become a member?

Research has proven that having a support system has many positive benefits, such as higher levels of well-being, better coping skills and a longer and healthier life. Studies have also shown that social support can reduce depression and anxiety. Some people do best with a large support group, while others need a small support system. Giving and receiving support from others is a basic human need.

The goal of social support is to decrease stress.

Together with correct medical treatment, having the confidence to take personal control of your condition, has been shown many times to be the most important factor in restoring your quality of life. Therefore, in everything we do, we put the emphasis on building your capacity to regain your sense of independence.

In a nutshell

Get in touch

We are the only body in our country that provides non-medical support for arthritis patients, their families and carers.

To do this we are involved in a wide range of education and support programmes, in providing access to information about  diseases, and by advocating the interests of people with arthritis in government, medical and media circles.

Questions and requests for information from members and non-members are welcome.
