Calling all Rheumatologists

and

Rheumatology Nurses

We need your expertise to reach more people through all our communication channels.

In South Africa, there is a great shortage of rheumatologists, not more than 40 in the country as a whole.

According to the World Health Organization, there should be a Rheumatologist specialist for every 180 000 people, so the shortage is obvious in South Africa. Most of them are also attached to the training hospitals in urban areas.

In a nutshell

Get in touch

We are the only body in our country that provides non-medical support for arthritis patients, their families and carers.

To do this we are involved in a wide range of education and support programmes, in providing access to information about  diseases, and by advocating the interests of people with arthritis in government, medical and media circles.

Questions and requests for information from members and non-members are welcome.
